Oliver’s Earbuzz: All of Our Q1 Favorites (So Far…)

Music makes our marketing brains smarter – it’s, like, a fact.

Well…if it doesn’t make us smarter, we at least know that music helps keep us in the zone and motivated through the long remote work days. Honestly, if we had to power through each day without some sweet, sweet tunes, our lives would be much more lonely and our tedious tasks not nearly as fun or approachable. While our tastes change with the constant tide of new music being released, here’s a playlist of what we’ve had on repeat since the start of the year.

What’s your favorite song at the moment – a true banger? A jazzy number? Something a little more classic?

Drop us what tracks are keeping you going during the work day on Twitter and we’ll include it in our next playlist!

What Makes a Great Looking Email? Winning Email Design [An Infographic]

Email marketing still reigns as one of the most engaging, effective ways to acquire, retain, inform, and communicate with customers in a B2B or B2C space. In fact, as much as 86% of professionals prefer to use email when communicating for business purposes (HubSpot), and nearly 75% of companies agree that email offers “excellent” to “good” ROI (Econsultancy).

From a consumer perspective, folks in the United States check their email a lot; most commonly while watching TV (70%), from bed (52%), on vacation (50%), while on the phone (43%), from the bathroom (42%), and even while driving (18%) (Adobe). Additionally, 86% of consumers say that they would like to receive promotional emails from companies they do business with at least monthly (Statista).

So, how does a business, large or small, stand out among the hordes of emails coming through a consumer’s inbox every day?

Design, design, design.

Campaign Monitor recently published a great piece of visual content that helps break down what email design is all about. Here’s what they had to say:

We were recently part of an esteemed panel of judges for Email Monks’ The Best Email Design Hunt and thought we’d use that experience as the inspiration for our next email design infographic. We teamed up with our pals from Emma and Email Monks to bring you the Anatomy of a Winning Email Design.

Artichoke users are also deeply engaged with the product on a daily basis which is a good indicator of the potential to retain subscribers for longer periods of time.  As of the end of 2017, users had already created 12,950 appointments, 19, 451 check-ins, completed 6,919 payments, and added 2,000 clients.

“Our vision is to be the best all-in-one business platform in the world for entrepreneurs in appointment-based businesses.”

Here’s a little of what the founder of Artichoke, Justin Shelby, has to say about going public:

“We set out to build a company that would focus on removing the obstacles standing in the way of financial and lifestyle success for millions of entrepreneurs following their passions. We started with a humble beta app which evolved into a fully featured business platform that’s powerful yet very simple to set up and use.

Over 2,000 users have helped us test and refine the platform over the past year, generating over 10,000 interactions which have been the guideposts for design, engineering, and customer engagement. In late 2017 we hit product critical mass as users started to convert from free accounts to paying accounts at double the rates from previous months. This fueled even more interactions and spawned a growing base of recurring revenue. Now it’s time to put some customer acquisition fuel in the tank and fire this baby up!”
