Designer Appreciation Post: Part 3

We have the utmost respect for the visual crafters, letter-makers, and inspiration shakers. In this ongoing series, we wanted to give due props to the artists we’re stalking. Thanks for making stuff beautiful.

Influenced by Dada and collages artwork, Zeren Badar reinterprets classical paintings by covering them with colorful elements such as candies, cakes or candles. With these unexpected juxtapositions, he creates a new pictorial world, new graphics and amazing texture effects, bringing a very contemporary vision

Originally from Turkey, Zeren Badar is a self-taught photographer who lives currently in New York.

After his series Nimbus in 2012, Dutch artist Berndnaut Smilde comes back with his series “Antipodes” in which he makes his creating-clouds machine work again. The clouds are made thanks to a modification of the room’s temperature and humidity, they are accentuated by lights.

Berlin-based multidisciplinary artist and photographer Sarah Illenberger transforms fruits and vegetables into common objects in her personal “Tutti Frutti” series.

Mixing stunning life photography with digital wizardry, Jati Putra has created some truly jarring, and undeniably beautiful scenes.
